Casey Anthony to be freed from jail next week

Casey Anthony should be freed from jail next week after being sentenced to four years for lying to police investigating her daughter's death.

Anthony is reportedly expected to be released next Wednesday due to time already served.

In a shock decision, earlier this week the jury found Anthony, 25, not guilty of murdering her daughter Caylee and has already served three years in custody, mostly in isolation.

Under New York State law more credit is given for good behaviour.

She appeared in court for her sentencing with her hair out and styled and much has been reported about her appearance.

Chief Judge Belvin Perry also fined Anthony $1,000 for all four counts of lying to police.

The four-year sentence imposed by Perry is the maximum the judge could set under the jury's decision, the Los Angeles Times reported.

But unhappy Anthony opponents still gathered outside the courthouse to express their displeasure about her acquittal Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder in connection to her daughter's death, the paper said.

Inside the courtroom, Anthony showed no reaction while Perry discussed her lies and imposed his sentence.

Earlier, she arrived in Perry's courtroom appearing relaxed and happy, the LA Times said.

Meanwhile, the not-for-profit group that helped search for Caylee is considering filing a lawsuit against Anthony and her family after it spent thousands trying to find the little girl.

Tim Miller started Texas EquuSearch in 2000. His daughter, Laura, was kidnapped and murdered in 1984.

Miller said he spent an entire month searching for Caylee Anthony in the summer of 2008. He and thousands of workers and volunteers traveled to Orlando to help locate the missing toddler, Click2Houston.com reported.

"We ended up and spent a little over $112,000 on this search," Miller said.

He also said he went to Orlando because Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, called him and asked him to come, the Houston website reported.

"Basically crying and saying, 'Can you help find my granddaughter?'" Miller said.

Miller said he was shocked to hear Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, tell the jury that the toddler was never missing. During opening statements of the murder trial against Casey Anthony, Baez said that Caylee drowned in the family's back yard swimming pool.

"Why in the world did you call us on a girl that was not missing?" said Miller. "So, we were misled. We were lied to, and right now, we are certainly looking at all of our options to possibly file a lawsuit."
