The consumption of beef in Argentina this year hit its lowest level in more than half a century.
On average, Argentines consume 22 percent less beef than they did two years ago, reported La Nacion.
It's not that Argentines have lost their taste for beef, it's simply getting too expensive, said the Ministry of Agriculture’s livestock sector.
The cost of a kilo of beef has risen 122 percent since 2009 and now costs 32.12 pesos (about $7.50).
