A 19-year-old woman allegedly bought a pair of nurse's scrubs for $16 at a store in Pittsburgh before walking into the hospital and approaching the mother of a three-day-old baby.

Business Insider reported Breona Moore told the mother she was taking the baby for a final check-up.

But when she did not return, the mother alerted hospital staff who contacted police.

Sgt. Eugene Hlavac of the Pittsburgh police said the baby, Bryce Coleman, left the hospital with the baby and took a bus downtown. She was found hiding in a stairwell of a buildling, according to bossip.com.

Police said the suspect, identified as Breona Moore, 19, of McKeesport, would be charged with one count of kidnapping. Other charges were pending.

WTAE reported Moore admitted to police she had planned to take a baby.

She told police that she convinced people she was pregnant and would be giving birth soon. She said the baby was sick and couldn't leave the hospital until yesterday, according to the complaint. Her Facebook page said she was planning a picnic for the baby on Saturday.

When asked by a Channel 4 Action News reporter if she had any regrets, Moore replied, "Somewhat, because I probably hurt his mom," and then added, "It's just a lot when you lose a child."
