Wind Jet, Italian budget airline, suspends all flights
Alitalia will offer flights to stranded Wind Jet passengers at discounted rates.
Wind Jet, an Italian budget airline, has abruptly canceled all of its flights, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.
The airline reportedly shut down all flights after its merger talks with Italian airline Alitalia broke down, BBC News reported.
The collapse comes during what is usually Europe's peak travel season, the Associated Press reported, and could affect as many as 300,000 passengers who have booked flights through October on the airline.

Alitalia ha said that passengers whose flights have been canceled will be able to travel with Alitalia and Air One at special fixed and discounted rates, according to Italian news service AGI.
Alitalia has reportedly added twenty special extra night flights to accommodate passengers stuck at Rome's Fiumicino airport, AGI reported.
Alitalia told the AP that Wind Jet did not over company financial data requested during an April agreement between the two companies.
Italy’s economic development minister has called a meeting with both companies in Rome for this upcoming Tuesday.
