“Penny lover, don’t you walk on by….” — a familiar refrain that Uncle Sam is telling pop star Lionel Richie, according to E! Online. The singer of “Brick House” and “All Night Long” owes the Feds $1.1 million and is facing the seizure of his assets.

As Tuesday’s deadline for Americans to pay income tax approaches, The Associated Press likewise reports that actress Pamela Anderson also owes the state of California $524,241.

Richie, 62, recently served as a singing mentor on the reality show The Voice and is set to appear on a new ABC reality music show called Duets, according to Wetpaint.

According to E!, Richie’s debt arises from unpaid income taxes in 2010. The celebrity website posts a copy of a tax lien (PDF) indicating that Richie could see his property seized by the Feds if he doesn’t pay up quickly.

Meanwhile, the AP says others owing California's taxes include Halsey Minor, the co-founder of CNET, and Joe Francis, founder of the video series "Girls Gone Wild."
