Stradivarius violin returned to Swiss lost property office

A Stradivarius violin was handed in at a Swiss lost property office after a musician left it on a train, police said Monday, AFP reported.
According to the Telegraph, the owner had lent the instrument, which could be worth millions of euros, to a musician friend who took it on a train on Friday, but accidentally forgot it on the train when he got off at Bern.
Surveillance cameras spotted a passenger walking off with the violin at a different station, RT reported.
However, after appealing for its return, the Stradivarius was located at the lost property office at the Bern railway station.
Police did not disclose any names, nor the value of the instrument, AFP reported.
Only 600 violins made by Italian master craftsman Antonio Stradivari are still in existence. One fetched about 11 million euros ($13.5 million) in 2011 for a charity auction for victims of the Japanese tsunami.
