The New York Post had reported Monday that the famed director was turning a book by a Navy SEAL called "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama bin Laden" into a film.
However, Spielberg's spokesman Marvin Levy denied the reports Tuesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“Neither Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Studios or DreamWorks Television will be optioning Mark Owen's book, No Easy Day," said Levy.

The book is written by Navy SEAL Matt Bissonette under the pseudonym Mark Owen, and tells the story of the attack on Osama Bin Laden's Pakistan compound from the perspective of those conducting the mission.
The book has already sparked controversy, though details and personnel on the mission have been omitted for national security purposes, Indie Wire reported.
US intelligence officials received the book, which comes out September 11, on Monday, and Pentagon spokesman George Little told the Associated Press that Defense Department officials "received the manuscript and we are looking at it" for leaked information.
If they find classified information, Bissonette could face criminal charges.
