Steve Jobs’ yacht impounded over unpaid bill
The yacht ordered by Apple’s late founder Steve Jobs remains docked at the De Vries shipyard in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, on October 29, 2012. The recently launched luxurious yacht named ‘Venus’ was envisioned by French designer Philippe Starck and built by Feadship, a Dutch shipbuilder.
Just a few months ago, Steve Jobs' 250-foot yacht named Venus was unveiled in the Netherlands. The vessel features a teak deck, floor-to-ceiling glass and seven 27-inch iMacs.
But now, the yacht's co-designer won't let it leave the port.
French designer Philippe Starck, who collaborated with the late Jobs in designing the yacht, hired a debt collection agency to prevent the yacht from leaving the Port of Amsterdam, Het Financieele Dagblad reported.

Starck says Jobs' heirs still owe him 3 million euros, and he has called debt collectors to have the yacht impounded. "The boat is brand new but there is a 3m euro claim on it. The parties will have to fight it out," a port spokesman told BBC News.
A lawyer representing Jobs' estate could not be reached by reporters. But Starck's lawyer told Reuters: "These guys trusted each other, so there wasn't a very detailed contract."
