Steve Jobs’ yacht impounded over unpaid bill

Just a few months ago, Steve Jobs' 250-foot yacht named Venus was unveiled in the Netherlands. The vessel features a teak deck, floor-to-ceiling glass and seven 27-inch iMacs.

But now, the yacht's co-designer won't let it leave the port.

French designer Philippe Starck, who collaborated with the late Jobs in designing the yacht, hired a debt collection agency to prevent the yacht from leaving the Port of Amsterdam, Het Financieele Dagblad reported.

Starck says Jobs' heirs still owe him 3 million euros, and he has called debt collectors to have the yacht impounded. "The boat is brand new but there is a 3m euro claim on it. The parties will have to fight it out," a port spokesman told BBC News

A lawyer representing Jobs' estate could not be reached by reporters. But Starck's lawyer told Reuters: "These guys trusted each other, so there wasn't a very detailed contract."
