Springsteen, McCartney mics cut during London concert

It was not a good weekend for the Boss.
The Associated Press reported organizers of this weekend's Hyde Park concert pulled the plug on Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney after their concert went past its curfew.
McCartney, who joined Springsteen and the E-Street Band on stage Saturday night for the "Hard Rock Calling" show, had their microphones cut before they could thank the crowds, the AP wrote.

The Guardian reported Steve Van Zandt, who plays guitar in Springsteen's E-Street Band, criticized London's "police state" while the city's mayor, Boris Johnson, criticized "an excessively efficacious decision", saying the band should have been allowed to "jam in the name of the Lord".
Springsteen had already exceeded the 10:30 p.m. curfew by half an hour when McCartney came on stage and they sang Beatles' hits "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout."
