Snoop Dogg has officially changed his rap moniker to Snoop Lion.

The 40-year-old rap superstar decided on the name change as part of his image overhaul to become a reggae star.

Snoop recently declared on Twitter, "Sendin the positive vibes all around!!! jahh!!! rastafari!!!" He added a link to his new reggae song and music video, La La La.

According to Snoop Lion's SoundCloud page, Snoop is now residing in Kingston, Jamaica.

Spin Magazine described the song as having, "loping guitars, tropical keyboards, and an atmosphere thick with smoke. The humid production helps keep Snoop's adopted patois from veering off quite into Snow territory (as catchy as the Canadian reggae singer's 1992 one-hit-wonder actually 'Informer' was!)"

Billboard Magazine had kinder words for the rapper known for his love of the "legalize it" movement, saying, "Snoop's vocals are shockingly smooth much like his rhymes of yore."

Billboard also noted that this isn't Snoop's first name change. In 1998, he dropped "Doggy" from his then rap name, Snoop Doggy Dogg. They also noted that this isn't Snoop's first attempt to reach out of the rap genre. In April he performed on the Willie Nelson ode to marijuana called,"Roll Me Up."

Snoop Lion's entire album titled Reincarnated is due out later this year. For now, sit back, relax and listen to La La La.
