Rock paper scissors playing robot never loses, say researchers

Rock, paper, scissors may not be a game of chance after all.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo have created the Janken robot that has never lost at the age-old children's game.

There's just one thing – the robot is also a liar and a cheater, reported the Los Angeles Times.

According to Wired, the researchers created the robot to make its move one millisecond after its human opponent has made their move.

Essentially, the robot perceives and reacts faster than the human eye.

The research shows the power of muscular reactions and the extent to which robots can react more swiftly than even the human mind or eye.

"Janken" is the name of the game in Japanese.
