Proceedings in Thailand’s parliament were interrupted on Wednesday when the graphic image of a naked young woman flashed across giant screens during a debate.
The picture appeared on monitors as a parliamentarian addressed the house during a debate on a controversial amendment to Thailand’s constitution.
According to the BBC, the session was halted and the monitors quickly switched off following a complaint from a lawmaker.
Photos of the incident – apparently snapped by a parliamentarian and published by the Bangkok Post – show a close-up image of a woman of Asian appearance holding her hand to her groin provocatively.
An investigation has now been launched into the incident. House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont said he had been told by an official that the picture signal was beamed into the parliament by hackers, according to Sky News.
Lawmakers later resumed their debate on a second reading of an amendment aimed at facilitating the drafting of a new constitution.
