After wearing braces for 11 years, Devin Bost has straight teeth – the only problems is that many are now rotten.

According to The Oregonian, Bost is suing his orthodontists for $185,100.

The 22-year-old wore braces starting at 7 until he was 18.

"What I'm told by the experts is, 'You can't do this. You can't keep them on that long. It's just not done," Bost's Portland attorney David Hollander told The Oregonian.

Even worse, Hollander alleged some of Bost's teeth will need to be extracted and replaced with implants because his "teeth have rotted through to the jaw."

CBS News reported his damages breakdown to $35,100 for corrective surgery and $150,000 for pain and suffering.

Americans who wear braces typically wear them one to three years, according to the President of the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. John F. Buzzatto.
