<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misty_May-Treanor">Misty May-Treanor</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerri_Walsh">Kerri Walsh Jennings</a> clinched their third consecutive <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beach_volleyball_at_the_Summer_Olympics">Olympic beach volleyball</a> gold medal today after trouncing fellow Americans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross 21-16 21-16 in just 37 minutes.
May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings, who have been beach volleyball partners for 11 years, collapsed on the sand and embraced after the final match point,<a href="http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/story/2012-08-08/Misty-May-Treanor-and-Kerri-Walsh-win-their-third-consecutive-Olympic-gold-medal/56882264/1"> USA Today reported.</a>
The pair have never lost a match at the Olympics.
&quot;It&#39;s insane. It doesn&#39;t feel like it&#39;s real,&quot; Walsh Jennings was<a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/us-womens-teams-play-olympic-beach-gold-16952194#.UCLokY7R1SU"> quoted by the Associated Press </a>as saying after receiving her gold medal.
&quot;I told Misty when we were getting our medals, &#39;If I wake up tomorrow and we have to replay this match, I&#39;m going to be furious.&#39; Because it feels like I&#39;m in a dream. It truly feels surreal and it didn&#39;t feel like that the first two times for whatever reason. But this, it&#39;s almost too good to be true.&quot;
May-Treanor, 35, has said she will retire after the Olympics,<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18907800"> the BBC reported. </a>
Thirty-three-year-old Walsh Jennings plans to continue playing.
&quot;We set the bar very high,&quot; May-Treanor said after the match.
&quot;We extended ourselves over that bar even higher.&quot;
Earlier today, Brazilian duo Larissa Franca and Juliana Silva defeated Chen Xue and Xi Shang&nbsp;of China for the bronze.
