Obama to appear on ‘Meet the Press’ on Sunday

Politico reported NBC's David Gregory will interview President Barack Obama on "Meet the Press" this Sunday.

The interview is the president's first appearance on the show in three years. The last one was Sept. 20, 2009.

At the time he was battling health care reform, Politico explained.

This time, Obama's appearance comes just hours before the "fiscal cliff" deadline.

In his Saturday radio address, the President referred to the deadlock with Congress, saying the economy "can't afford a politically self-inflicted wound," and urged lawmakers to pass the legislation, according to The Hill.

Gregory, is currently in hot water with the Washington Metropolitan Police Department and under investigation, after he brought an illegal gun magazine on "Meet the Press" during a recent interview with National Rifle Association's Wayne LaPierre, Politico wrote.
