Never Seconds: How a 9 year old and her lunch galvanized the Twittersphere

GlobalPost

Martha Payne says she never meant to be a political activist, but then again, what nine year old does?

Payne, of western Scotland, started her blog, Never Seconds, two months ago. In it, she documented her school lunches, rating them on things like the mouthfuls she ate, the healthiness of the meal, and how many pieces of hair she found in the meal. Her blog did not generate revenue, and instead raised money for the charity Mary's Meals.

This Storify tells the story of Payne and her school lunches.
