Needles found in sandwiches on four Delta flights from Amsterdam

Delta Air Lines Inc. is investigating how needles got into turkey sandwiches on four flights from Amsterdam to the US.
According to the Associated Press, the airline admits needles were found in six sandwiches on flights this Sunday. The needles were found on planes enroute to Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Seattle.
The Wall Street Journal reported a passenger on one of the flights was injured but declined treatment after the plane landed in Minneapolis.
"Delta is taking this matter extremely seriously and is cooperating with local and federal authorities who are investigating," Delta said in a statement. "Delta has taken immediate action with our in-flight caterer at Amsterdam to ensure the safety and quality of the food we provide onboard our aircraft."
The AP wrote that the sandwiches were prepared by a catering company in Amsterdam and after the needles were found, passengers were given pizza.
Delta operated 17 flights from Amsterdam to the US on Sunday and again on Monday.
