#MoreFakeMitt: Did Mitt Romney buy followers?
Did he build it? Mitt Romney and his campaign are accused of buying fake Twitter followers. The campaign has denied they purchased follows but Twitter users still shared their ire with the hashtag #MoreFakeMitt.
Mitt Romney has become an overnight Twitter sensation, garnering thousands of new followers in mere hours… or so it would seem.
His Twitter handle @MittRomney was tracked by Zach Green of 140elect.com, a blog which monitors Twitter trends relating to the 2012 presidential election. Green quickly noticed something was off when Romney garnered over 116,000 new follows in one day. The Romney campaign has denied paying for followers.
