More Bangkok bombs but cops nab suspect

Bangkok ordnance disposal teams donned their big, green Hurt Locker suits to defuse six bombs at three locations in Bangkok, according to the Thai press.

The bombs' locations were determined after cops secured a confession from a man suspected of planting previous bombs around the Thai capital, the Bangkok Post reports.

Meanwhile, half-baked reports that 10 New Year's celebration sites in Bangkok are threatened by bomb attacks have grown legs.

Despite the fact that the cited source of this rumor, the deputy prime minister, has disavowed it, the warning has been picked up by the press in both Singapore and Hong Kong. (See my post from two days ago, Bangkok May or May Not Explode, for a breakdown.)
