Minaj for Mitt: Rapper Nicki Minaj endorses Mitt Romney in song

GlobalPost

Nicki Minaj is a firm believer that starships are meant to fly. She also believes that Mitt Romney can fix the economy.

Minaj is featured in a new single titled "Dedication 4" off of fellow rapper Lil Wayne's mixtape. In it Minaj says, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b—-es is f—ing up the economy."

While that may seem like a pretty clear cut endorsement to most, many fans are questioning its authenticity, saying that Minaj must have been joking. Minaj did after all follow that line with one noting that she is "hanging out with zombies."

Caution, the song contains about as many expletives as there were cowboy hats at the RNC:

New York Magazine noted that Minaj has been a vocal Obama supporter, even Tweeting at the president several times including this Tweet: “That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?”

It may be easy to brush off Minaj's lyrics as just another celebrity endorsement, but as the fourth most followed person on Twitter she may have more clout than she is given credit for.

Following the song's release, Twitter erupted with some rather humorous reactions:
