Meet Mugly.
The world's got a new ugliest dog.
Meet Mugly, the winner of this year's World's Ugliest Dog competition. The Chinese Crested pooch with a face full of white whiskers beat 28 ugly dogs from around the world to win the northern California competition.
His prize: a $1,000, a year of dog treats and priceless title. He'll also get a VIP stay at a snazzy hotel.
Mugly is an eight-year-old rescue dog from the United Kingdom who in 2005 was named the UK's ugliest dog, Associated Press said.
Bev Nicholson, the dog's owner, told the paper Mugly's latest prize left her speechless. “I didn’t know which way to look. I was shaking as much as the dog,” she told the news agency.
Mugly won not only the judges' votes, but also the public's votes. Mugly got more than 1,200 of the 3,400 votes cast online, ABC said.
Last year's world's ugliest dog, Yoda, died earlier this year. Yoda was 15.
