A New Jersey man has been charged after he allegedly punched a window on a JetBlue plane as it departed Orlando, Florida.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Robert Ramirez of Hackensack, New Jersey, was on board a flight departing from Orlando International Airport on November 2 when the incident happened.

Airline crew told police Ramirez became angry when he was told he could not sit next to his mother.

The Daily Mail reported the impact broke the window, causing it to detach from the aircraft.

The flight was delayed for about an hour while the window was replaced.

A federal grand jury in Orlando indicted Ramirez last week on a charge of destruction of an aircraft.
