Man given a ticket after running himself over with his own truck

If you think you're having a bad day, spare a thought for poor Brian Reynolds.

Reynolds of Lynn, Massachusetts, was fined on Monday after running himself over with his own pickup truck.

Boston.com reported that Reynolds was driving his 1987 Chevy on Tremont Street when the brakes failed.

The 40-year-old attempted to stop the vehicle “Fred Flintstone style” – but failed.

“The driver opened his door and put his left foot out to try to stop the truck,” according to the police department’s daily log published in The Salem News.

“As he did so, he attempted to run the truck off to the right shoulder of the road up an embankment, which caused him to fall out. The truck drove over his left leg and proceeded down Tremont Street, crossed the roadway and struck a fire hydrant.”

Luckily no one else was injured in the incident.

Reynolds was taken to hospital for treatment and fined $35 for driving with “defective brakes.”
