Lindsey Vonn airlifted to hospital after skiing crash

US Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn was airlifted off a slope at the Alpine Ski World Championships in Austria today after crashing during the super G, CNN reported.
The hospital that’s treating Vonn said she has a "complex knee injury," according to CNN.
Vonn, 28, a four-time overall Alpine Ski World Cup champion, lost balance after landing a jump, the Associated Press reported.
The skiing conditions have been challenging on the opening day of the World Cup, and the race had been delayed by three and a half hours because of fog, the AP reported.
"It's not a very difficult course, but in some parts you couldn't see anything," Fabienne Suter of Switzerland told the AP.
According to the AP:
All through her career, Vonn has been slowed by injuries at major championships – crashes and concussions; a sliced thumb and bruised shin.
