Lebanon fires rockets into Israel (VIDEO)

Lebanon fired rockets into Israel early Tuesday in the first such attack in more than two years, the Israeli military told the Associated Press. Israel responded with artillery fire.
The Israeli military reported that two rockets landed on Israeli soil. They did not cause any casualties or major damage, and no one has claimed responsibility.

Additional UN peacekeeping troops were deployed to the region and patrols were increased, the Jerusalem Post reported. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon has policed the area since 2006 to enforce a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah.
"There is a need to act with restraint and the parties have reassured me of the continued commitment to maintain the cessation of hostilities," said the commander of the peacekeeping force UNIFIL, Maj. Gen. Alberto Asarta Cuevas.
The border tension comes amid a period of instability and political upheaval across the region. Egypt, which has seen a week of protests against the military's grip on power, went to the polls for a second day Tuesday, and the United Nations released a report Monday accusing Syria of crimes against humanity during its eight-month unrest.
