Katie Holmes to get $400,000 a year in child support for Suri
Fresh from her epic split from Tom Cruise, actress Katie Holmes made her debut at New York Fashion Week.
Katie Holmes did not receive a lump sum payout from ex-husband Tom Cruise due to a prenup, which shut her out of his $250million fortune.
According to TMZ, Holmes received "nothing more" than an annual $400,000 in child support for six-year-old Suri.
The $400,000 a year – or $33,333 a month – will go toward Suri’s care. Cruise will also have to pay for expenses such as medical treatments, insurance and education until her 18th birthday.
New York Daily News reported the 33-year-old actress is simply happy to be divorced from him. She has requested legal custody and primary residential custody over Suri.
The settlement also reportedly included restrictions on Suri’s exposure to the controversial Church of Scientology, of which Cruise is a well-known member.
