Jon Stewart debates Bill O’Reilly in Washington (VIDEO)

Comedian Jon Stewart debated Fox News host Bill O'Reilly in “Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” over the weekend at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

The Christian Science Monitor reported the big winner was the audience.

The Comedy Central host and the conservative television anchor might have clashed on an ideological level at the sold-out debate but the two seem to be friends.

As GlobalPost reported, half the proceeds from the live-streamed event went to charity. The debate was a comedic take on the recent presidential debates between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

O’Reilly defended Romney’s recent “47 percent” comments saying "about 20 percent of us are slackers, and it’s a growing industry,” the Monitor reported.

Stewart responded to the issue of entitlements joking “We are an entitlement nation… Have you ever seen 'Oprah’s Favorite Things' episode? We are a people that wants free things.”

On the issue of the deficit, one of the key presidential debate topics, Stewart mocked Romney and other Republicans: “We are merely weeks from being a failed state, or even worse, Greece… to solve it, kill Big Bird.”

Both men spoke about funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which Romney proposed cutting during last week’s debate. Here is a look at what they had to say from the Daily Beast:
