Joe Jackson arrives at the grand opening of Mike Tyson’s one-man show ‘Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth – Live on Stage’ at the Hollywood Theatre at the MGM Grand Hotel/Casino April 14, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A spokeswoman for Joe Jackson, the father of Michael and Janet, said the musical family's patriarch has suffered a mild stroke.
The Associated Press reported that Angel Howansky said Jackson, 83, went to a Las Vegas hospital late Wednesday night after having trouble standing up and walking. He was having pains in his head, but is said to be feeling fine as of Thursday and should be released Friday. A family friend had driven him to the hospital.

Jackson is said to be "in very good spirits," according to CNN. The mild stroke is similar to two others he suffered over the past five years.
A conflicting report from Fox News said that Jackson is in serious condition and quotes a close family insider: "The good thing is that he was taken immediately to the hospital as he was with a couple people at the time."
Jackson's wife, Katherine, is said to be on her way to Las Vegas to be with her husband, according to the AP. She lives in Los Angeles and takes care of her late son's children, while her husband has a home in Las Vegas.
Jackson, who created and managed his children in the Jackson 5, still remains active in developing and promoting several businesses and products.
