Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., has left the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and is back in Washington, DC.
The Chicago Tribune reported the son of civil right leader Rev. Jesse Jackson is home after nearly nine weeks at the clinic, where he was being treated for bipolar depression.
As GlobalPost reported, Rep. Jackson, a Democrat from Illinois, entered Congress in 1995 and is up for re-election in November.
Rick Bryant, Jackson's chief of staff in Chicago, told the Tribune "I am hopeful that he'll be back on the job on Monday" when Congress returns from summer recess.

Jackson began his leave of absence on June 10, according to Politico, although his office did not announce his departure until June 26, fueling rumors about his whereabouts.
