‘Jersey Shore’ ends on MTV after sixth season

The sixth season of MTV reality-show ‘Jersey Shore’ show will be its last.

MTV announced it is pulling the plug on the popular reality show. The show's final run begins airing October 4.

Entertainment Weekly reports the 'Shore' cast will make a live appearance on the red carpet during MTV's Video Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 6.

EW called the show "one of the most polarizing shows in TV history" because of its stereotypes about Italian-Americans.

Snooki and co-star Jenni Farley, known as J-Woww, recently documented the pregnancy in their spin-off, "Snooki & JWoww."

MTV wrote the 24-year-old's pregnancy will also be featured in the this last season of the "Jersey Shore" set in Seaside Heights.
