JCPenney ad offends moms because of Ellen DeGeneres (VIDEO)

A religious group is offended by an advertisement with a lesbian in it. What's new.

The Christian group One Million Moms has launched a boycott of JCPenney's after the company featured Ellen DeGeneres as an elf in a new commercial.

“JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets. We have contacted JCPenney's several times in the past with our concerns, and they will not listen," the organization said in a statement. "They have decided to ignore our complaints so we will avoid them at all costs.”

The group has previously objected to JCP's initial hiring of Ellen and JCP's decision to feature a lesbian couple in its catalog, AdWeek reported, so the group's complaints don't seem to be making a major impact on the retailer.

What's more, the One Million Moms group actually has nowhere near one million members, according to the Boston Globe
