Jay-Z, Beyoncé host Obama dinner for $40,000-a-ticket

NEW YORK – Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the latest celebrities to raise some serious money for President Barack Obama.

The New York Post reports the two will throw a $40,000-a-ticket dinner at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City next week on Sept. 18.

The Washington Post said in a recent email from Obama's re-election campaign, Beyoncé wrote: “Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!”

Before the fundraiser, Obama is scheduled to attend a reception where families "can pose for a photo with him for a $12,500 contribution," the New York Post reported.

A number of Hollywood celebrities have come out for the President. Recently, Sarah Jessica Parker and George Clooney hosted similar events.

Parker's co-host Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue, helped throw the June $40,000-per-person fundraiser in New York's West Village.
