Jane Pitt, Brad Pitt’s mother, wrote anti-gay letter to local paper

It's a mother's job to embarrass her children, but Jane Pitt, mother of Brad Pitt, may have taken the embarrassing mom cake.

Jane Pitt recently penned an anti-Obama letter to her local newspaper and showed her support for Mitt Romney, while also showing her disdain for abortion and same-sex marriage.

Brad Pitt has been a staunch supporter of same-sex marriage and an outspoken supporter of President Obama. According to the New York Daily News, Pitt and his fiance Angelina Jolie even went so far as to say they would not get married until it was legal for everyone to do the same.

The letter, which appeared in Missouri's Springfield News-Leader, was in response to another letter by Richard Stoecker. Stoecker's letter was in support of Christians who do not support Mitt Romney, the Huffington Post reported.

In his letter Stoecker said, "Traditional Christians believe in gender equality. They believe Mormon theology denigrates women."

Jane Pitt did not share Stoecker's view. In part her rebuttal letter read, "Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

The paper has confirmed that it was written by Jane Pitt.
