‘Innocence of Muslims’ actress Cindy Lee Garcia sues filmmaker

One of the stars in the anti-Muslim film sparking protests worldwide is suing the producer for fraud and slander.
Cindy Lee Garcia filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

In it, she claims she was duped by "Innocence of Muslims" filmmaker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and requests that the movie's trailer be removed online.
Garcia said she responded to an ad and thought she was appearing in an ancient Egyptian adventure film that was altered to give it an anti-Islamic message, The Associated Press reported.

"The film is vile and reprehensible," Garcia's attorney, M. Cris Armenta, wrote in the lawsuit.
Nakoula has been forced into hiding since the 14-minute film trailer rose to prominence last week, sparking protests in the Middle East and elsewhere that left several people dead, including a US ambassador.
Garcia has received death threats as a result and told the New York Daily News she can no longer visit her grandchildren for their own protection.
