German dude’s hilariously epic cannonball fail (VIDEO)

BERLIN, Germany — Wearing only a pair of black swimming trunks but brimming with bravado, this German guy's attempted pool jump is a must-see: 

Needless to say, "ice dude" has taken the Internet by storm, giving rise to quite a few good GIFs. 

The amateur video features some German talk, including his buds telling him to "aim for the middle," according to The Huffington Post. There is also a little swearing in English.

All this is lead-up to the fabulously failed jump itself, a feat that immediately prompted an adoring Buzzfeed headline calling ice dude "the greatest aquatic athlete of all time." 

Well, he might've missed the water — but looks like he made a splash anyway.
