Freddie Mercury to perform with Queen once more

Freddie Mercury will give his first performance with Queen in 26 years. 

Although the front man died in 1991, he will be performing one last time on May 14th, to mark the 10th anniversary of their musical, "We Will Rock You," which plays in London's West End, according to Huffington Post. 

Of course the performance will draw comparisons to the Tupac hologram that performed at Choachella this year. Queen guitarist Brian May wants everyone to know, they thought of it first. "It's a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we've been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while," said the Huffington Post.

May stressed to the BBC, the Mercury performance would not come from a hologram, but rather an "optical illusion of sorts," adding "people will come out saying 'Did we actually see Freddie?'"

May also said this would be a one time only performance. 

Band mate Roger Taylor told Billboard.com that he wouldn't play with a hologram Mercury. "I don't want to appear with a hologram of my dear friend. It's the real one or no hologram for me. But I think it's an amazing effect when used properly — obviously in darkness." 

The group will be touring this summer sans-hologram. They have instead asked American Idol star Adam Lambert to join them for a few special performances.
