‘Fifty Shades’ writer may create second trilogy

“Fifty Shades of Grey” author EL James is considering writing a second trilogy from the perspective of the novels' billionaire Christian Grey, according to the New York Daily News.

The best-selling novels, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” which have sold 10 million copies are told through the lens of the protagonist Anastasia Steele, a college girl who enters into a bdsm relationship with the older, dominant Grey.

There is a large demand for the books, which are topping best-seller lists. Fans are hungry for more material while they wait for the movie adaptation of the trilogy.

Universal Pictures acquired the rights to produce the movie version in March.

The Daily News wrote "Angelina Jolie has reportedly expressed desire to direct, while “American Psycho” author Bret Easton Ellis began lobbying to write the screenplay via a series of tweets on Saturday."

“I’m putting myself out there to write the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” he wrote. “Hope EL James doesn’t think I’m being a prankster. I really want to adapt her novels for the screen. Christian Grey is a writer's dream …”

The Hollywood Reporter said Ellis also has some ideas about the cast and crew. According to Digital Spy, he suggested Director David "Cronenberg and Alexander Skarsgård is a no-brainer. I've seen Alexander naked so many times at the gym that we both attend: perfect casting."

Who does Ellis think would make the perfect Ana? Scarlett Johansson or Kristen Stewart.
