Reports suggest that the 19-year-old girl had a habit of munching her hair – and chalk – during class hours.
Doctors in India said that they pulled a four pound hairball caked in chalk out of a girl’s stomach. The girl apparently ate her hair and chalk during school hours to pass the time.
A girl in India had a four pound hairball removed from her stomach by doctors in Indore, a city in western India.
Reports suggest that the 19-year-old girl had a habit of munching her hair – and chalk – during class hours, said the Daily News.
The surgeon involved in the case said that it was a rather rare case of something – in this case, chalky hair – getting stuck between the stomach and the small intestine.
The obstacle likely caused the girl serious pain and an inability to eat.

NDTV reported that the object was caked in chalk which made it harden and form a ball (see disturbing photo).
Apparently, the operation was a success and the girl is doing fine.
It is still unclear whether her parents have forced her to get a haircut but we hope.
