Czech woman gets high, climbs 40-foot-high voltage tower

A woman in the Czech Republic wanted to walk on a bridge across the Morava river. There was just one problem: she had smoked cannabis all day. When it came time to get on the bridge, she somehow ended up scaling a 40-foot-high voltage tower instead. Locals called police when they saw her tight-rope walking on an electrical wire while clinging to part of the structure, Metro reported.

Before she went on her journey, the 21-year-old woman had spent four hours smoking a type of super-strength cannabis called skunk, the Mirror reported. "It was a nightmare because she was very much under the influence of drugs and wasn't making much sense," a police spokesman told the Mirror. "She was convinced, though, that the pylon was a bridge across the Morava river."

Drug counselors and police came to the scene and convinced her to eventually climb back down, the Austrian Times reported. She was sent to a hospital to be treated for her drug consumption but otherwise was unhurt.

The police spokesman summed the incident up to the Mirror with a word pun: "“She's lucky she didn't get a new high – high voltage.”
