Conrad Murray sentenced to four years for Michael Jackson’s death

Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, was sentenced to four years in custody Tuesday, CNN reported.
Murray was convicted earlier this month of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. Murray was accused of misusing the surgical anesthetic propofol to help the legendary pop singer sleep. Prosecutors argued that Murray did not properly monitor Jackson while he was on the drug.

The trail had lasted for six weeks and involved 33 prosecution witnesses, 16 defense witnesses and more than 340 exhibits.
The prosecutor, David Walgren, argued that Murray failed to fulfill his duty to care for his patient and committed acts of "criminal negligence."
The prosecutors asked for four years in prison; the defense asked for probation.
CBS News reported Tuesday that Murray might serve only half of his sentence because of overcrowding in California's jails.
Jackson died on June 25, 2009. He was 50 and preparing for additional concerts.
