A new "hover bike" device being developed by the US company Aerofex looks crazy-similar to the speeder bikes out of the old "Return of the Jedi" Star Wars movie, according to LiveScience

The company released footage showing it hovering up to 15 feet in the air during a test drive, watch it here thanks to The Guardian

The bike's mechanical system gives users steering control that's sensitive to their body movement — in other words, you lean left, the bike-thing goes left. The vehicle can travel at speeds up to 30 miles per hour, according to the Guardian.

But will it be hard to drive? Apparently not, being so easy to navigate that drivers may not even need a pilot's license, according to LiveScience.

Aerospace engineer Aerofex founder Mark De Roche told InnovationNewsDaily that because the drivers' "balancing movements are instinctive and constant, it plays out quite effortlessly to him."

The company says it will test-fly a second generation in October and is working on a robotic version for 2013, said LiveScience.
