In Case Autumn Passed You By – Autumn in Europe
Two Red Deer stags ‘rut’ in the early morning mist in Richmond Park in London, England. Oct. 15, 2011. Autumn sees the start of the ‘Rutting’ season where the large Red Deer stags can be heard roaring and barking in an attempt to attract females known as bucks.
This fall in the Northeast of the US, the leaf-peeping has been less than spectacular. Blame Hurrican Irene, a massive dumping of snow in early November and above-average rainfall. In Europe though, despite all its worries, autumn has been a stunning success.
