A three-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after riding his toy motorcycle into traffic on a busy Chinese street Monday.

Video shows the youngster headed straight at oncoming busses and cars in Wenzhou, in the eastern province of Zhejiang, MSNBC reported.

A police officer spotted his journey, and guided him to safety.

He slipped away from his grandfather, who had gone to use the bathroom, Sky News said.

The boy wanted to see his mother, who worked at KFC.

“It took place at about 5:30 p.m. during rush hour, with huge passenger and traffic flows,” the officer said, according to Sky News.

The boy’s grandfather takes care of the boy while his parents work, and was frantically searching for him.

The boy drove 1.3 miles before entering traffic.

The motorcycle was a gift from relatives, who removed the battery to avoid any potential disaster.

However, the boy’s grandfather had replaced it.
