Adele Skyfall theme pleasing critics, teasing Bond fans (VIDEO)

Adele’s newest song for the James Bond flick Skyfall is pleasing music critics for her apparent homage to the classic recordings of the super spy's past.

A 90-second snippet of the theme song leaked online generated plenty of positive reviews, with The Daily Telegraph calling it “a Bond song that actually stirs the heart.”

Adele will debut the song on Friday morning at 7 am British time (007, get it?) on her website.

You can preorder the song on iTunes ahead of the launch.

Movie promoters have dubbed Friday as James Bond Day since it also marks the 50th anniversary of the first film, Dr. No.

As for the song itself, fans might say it sounds more like Shirley Bassey’s standard “Goldfinger” rather than recent lukewarm efforts from Madonna (“Die Another Day”), Chris Cornell (“You Know My Name) or the Jack White-Alicia Keys combo (“Another Way to Die”).

Adele said in a prepared statement that she’s glad she accepted the offer to record “Skyfall” despite the “instant spotlight and pressure.”

She combined with composer Thomas Newman, producer Paul Epworth and a 77-piece orchestra.

“When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life,” Adele said.

“I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day.”

Adele’s album “21” has sold 9.8 million copies in the US.

“Skyfall” hits theaters on November 9.
