3 dead, several hurt in train crash outside Frankfurt, Germany
Three people died and six others were injured, one seriously, when a regional train collided with a works engine early Friday, on April 13, in western Germany.
Three people died and 13 were hurt when a German commuter train collided with a maintenance crane Friday morning near the town of Offenbach, outside Frankfurt.
CNN reported that the train's driver and two construction workers were killed, while several of the train's 35 passengers were seriously injured.
The regional train was traveling from Frankfurt to Hanau.

TheLocal.de cited a police spokesman as saying an engine loaded with two diggers "was standing on the same railway line that the train was traveling along."
The two vehicles collided head on at around 1:00 a.m..
The front of the commuter train, which derailed, was destroyed, with rescue crews taking several hours to cut the driver's body free.
Over 200 responders attended the scene.
