Visine poisoning suspect arrested

A California man is accused of putting eye drops in his girlfriend's drink after a fight. Ladies, this probably means he'll be back on the market soon.

Shayne Carpenter, 27, was arrested after his girlfriend became ill, UPI reported. The girlfriend, whose name has not been released, became sick after a fight, and says that her illness stems from the Visine he secretly put in her drink.

“We got admissions from him over the phone, when he was admitting to her, that he had done this,” Lt. Steve Tripp of the Nevada County Sheriff Department told ABC News.

According to ABC, there is an urban legend that Visine consumption causes diarrhea. But the US National Institute of Health says that the poisoning is much more serious, able to cause health problems such as coma, tremors and seizures.

This suspect, however, seems to only care about the diarrhea side effects, because poop is so funny that it cancels out the risk of getting a seizure. Police say he texted his friends messages such as, "She's going to be talking crap then she's going to be crapping," KOLO8 reported. How charming.
