Detectives in Nevada have arrested a suspect they believe to be behind a string of murders in two small counties near Reno.

KOLO-TV reported Tuesday that police arrested one suspect connection with the murders but no details have been released.

Five people have been found dead in and around the small town of Fernley, about 30 miles east of Reno.

A married couple was found dead in their home on Monday and another man and a woman were found dead a few blocks away, reports AP.

Police say the murders are connected to a fifth murder after a body was found in a ditch along the highway exit for the infamous Mustang Ranch brothel.

Lyon County Undersheriff Albert Torres said that investigators think all five homicides are connected.

KOLO-TV reports that a person who lives next door to one of the homes where murder victims were discovered came home Monday to find an intruder inside their home. Authorities said the suspect tried to run but was tackled and arrested by officers.

According to the Las Vegas Guardian, Fernley is a quiet town of fewer than 20,000 residents. The town features an Amazon.com warehouse and is not far from the Fallon Air Force Base.
