People magazine has named Gwyneth Paltrow the world’s most beautiful woman of 2013.
The “Iron Man 3” actress, whose smiling face is splashed across the cover of the forthcoming issue of the magazine, beat Kerry Washington, Amanda Seyfried, Jane Fonda and Halle Berry, among others, for the title.
Paltrow, 40, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, initially didn’t believe the news.
“I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me," the willowy mother-of-two told People.
"I had to reread the e-mail three times. I was like, 'This can't be true, I've developed dyslexia — I'm not reading this right.' It's a very iconic cover in American culture, so it's just amazing."
Paltrow can be forgiven for being a little suspicious.
Earlier this month, Star Magazine named the Oscar-winning actress-turned cookbook author the No. 1 “most hated” start in Hollywood, beating arguably more deserving candidates Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan and Madonna for the dubious honor.
The new issue of People magazine will hit newsstands on Friday.
