Pakistan soccer game bombing kills children

A bomb killed several children playing street soccer and injured dozens more at a crowded market in an impoverished Pakistani neighborhood Tuesday night.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which appears to have targeted provincial minister Javed Naghori, who remained unharmed. A number of terrorist groups operate in Pakistan, including the Taliban.

The bomb, hidden inside a motorcycle, exploded near a soccer field in Lyari, where a local tournament was being played, according to the BBC.

Hospital officials told Radio Free Europe some of those injured remain in critical condition.

"A match was being played. When the match ended, we came out and as soon as we came out there was a blast," one of the victims said. "Everyone started running in panic. Many people were hit, which scared everyone."

Many of those killed were between six and 15 years old, according to reports.
