North Korea moves two missile launchers to east coast for possible test launch

North Korea is said to have moved two missile launchers to the east coast of the country in a show of force.

The two short-range launchers may indicate that the North Korean government is planning a test launch.

The mobile Scud missile launchers were dispatched to Korea's Hamgyeong province, in a move that could coincide with the founding of its military on April 25.

North Korea had already moved several missile launchers into the area earlier in the month.

"The satellite imagery released after April 16 showed that two additional transporter-erector-launchers (TEL) for shorter-range Scud missiles were moved to South Hamgyeong Province," said South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

Reuters said that South Korea has been expecting test missile launches by its neighbor, as tensions have developed over the last few months.

North Korea said yesterday that it was willing to negotiate arms reductions with its neighbors and the US but denuclearization was off the table.
